Item Response Theory

Item Response Theory (IRT) models the relationship between a person's latent ability (theta) and the probability that they answer a particular item correctly. Unlike Classical Test Theory, IRT describes each item with its own parameters, so item difficulty and a person's ability are placed on the same scale.
